Well this guy has made the Washingtion Post because Google fired him for making comments about Google in his Blog.

    http://99zeros.blogspot.com/2005/02/official-story-straight-from-source.html#comments

I wonder if that means that my job with Google is on the line also

Larry, Sergey, you guys know that after I sign my 25 million dollar contract that I will be pro-Google all the way, no if's and's or butt's about it :D

    That guy was a fool...
    It's old news now anyway...

If you get a new job, you should probabally check that it's OK to blog about them before you start...
He posted some information that wasn't meant to be seen out in the open...

    Jeez...

Much agreed. He is old smoke now. Not to mention that he got canned.

I have been watching his blog since his first post. Was intersting to see how it all went down, how he changed a few posts, etc.

Sounded like a herb anyways, was always turning in early and was afraid of some girls and booze. Not Google Material ;)

Was this the sap who was complaining about near every aspect of Google benefits such as their providing everything you'd need in an effort to keep their employees happy?

Yeah, one of the things he complained about was on site doctors (and other on site things) because even though it saved him time and trouble, it also benefitted Google.

I can't decide who was stupider in this, the guy who started writing critical posts to his blog the first day at work, or Google for first hiring the guy, and then firing him because he wrote some harmless critisizm on his blog.

Corporate bloggers walk a fine line... on one hand employers do not want internal information (which is sometimes damaging) available for the public, on the other hand there is a persons free speech rights...

He should have felt the waters a bit more before commenting on that, and researched a bit on G's corporate blogging policy. Freedom of expression and free speech doesn't mean that you can, say just about anything about anybody and get away with it.

If he leaked information which he wasn't supposed to do so. I think, G didn't have much of a choice. The guy was reckless enough not to weigh his options first, before opening his mouth, er.. putting his fingers on to the keyboard.
