Google Filters For Parts of A Site???

I have one site that took a huge decrease in SERP. I still have a few #1 placements and Page 1 rankings, so the site doesn't have a total penalty. The site has tons of content and backlinks. It also has many outgoing links to helpful places.

There are parts of the site that are indexed in Google, but I can't get them to come up in any kind of search. Even when I search for the direct content on the page. Is that the Google Filter at work? Is it ignoring parts of my site because it might have a bad link neighbor or something?

    Any input is greatly appreciated.

May be your internal linking isnt done properly. Probably good idea take a look at that.

Also you might do some test doing link building for internal pages see if that works.

Google might have made another algorithm change that knocked out some of your links. Sometimes they come back. You'll just have to keep checking.

I'm pretty sure you are both right to a good extent. I am reworking my template and focusing on internal linking. While at the same time building as many quality links as possible. Any other possible causes I should look out for?

If you were ranking before for that webpage and not have stopped, then it could be an Over Optimisation Penalty or filter as you called it. I'll start by looking closely at keyword density and links (both inbound and outbound) to that page to see if any of these factors might have triggered a filter. The good thing about the google filters is that by making modification, you usually get back your ranking.

Great point. All my pages usually target one specific keyword. Those are the only words that appear in the headers. I'll try adding more words to the title tags, H1 headers. Thanks for the ides.

I think JHybrid might be right. I am hearing from a lot of people in the underground that Google
has gone spastic lately and they are having a hard time staying on the first page. And these are
people that rank for some very competitive terms; they know their stuff. Even my bootcamp took
a hit in the serps, today I could not find it anywhere! LOL But I've seen this type of thing happen
every once in awhile for six years, so not gonna lose sleep over it.

Just to be clear, the google filter is for all on-the-page optimization issues. So, if I change a few things around to make the on-page factors look a little less optimized, I'm good to go?
