Google filtering Co-op ads?

Anyone noticed Google is now filtering out co-op ads? At least not improving the SERP.

I noticed recently any new keyword I add, no matter how much weight on it, it doesn't change the SERP in Google (not at all). A few month ago, I can put as little weight as 300 and it would move the ranking from 100 to 20.

    Anybody else noticed this?

I still don't see how Google can filter based on IBLs.

If I want to sink a competetitor, then all I have to do is go out and put a link to him in the Co-op.

Who links to you is beyond your control. Now how you link TO is, so maybe there are some 'bad neighborhood' links in the co-op dragging placement down....?

So the solution might be a three stop linking scheme. Show co-op ads on a feeder site to generate weight, then point co-op lins to a third site that doesn't link back to the feeder site.

Anyone tried that versus the straight show the ads on teh same site your co-op links point to?

IMHO, if it is your forums in your sig file, it may also possibly have to do with the 30ish links at the bottom of your forum pages..... i recall having seen it said (somewhere) that over 10 links at the bottom of a page is considered iffy :( ... have they always been there while using the co-op ?

I didn't say my ranking dropped, I only said my ranking did not change because of co-op, not like before.

Nobody said anything about rankings waxing. So I don't understand where you're comming from on this.

Are talking about getting a page "Sandboxed" because it receives thousands of new Co-op links?

Googlebot is not a fast bot as msnbot. Also, Google takes some time to update the index. So, it is normal if you experience some delay in going up on the SERPs. Also, If you remove a keyword from the co-op you will not see a drastic decrease (no if you have a decent weight and that ad for a month or two...) but a progressive decrease has the pages cache that link to you are progressivly updated, so nothing unusual here.

Also now with all that agressive filtering and duplicate content it will take longer for you to rank (yes, about 1 to 2 weeks to stabilize in SERPs) but co-op still as the same streght...

This is nice because will not raise any "red flag" by Google in the short term, it's a progressive increase and progressive decrease ;)

I put about 5,000-10,000 weight on several different keywords and the ranking has not changed in about 3 weeks so far.

coop links have the same filter appied on them as any other links in google

if you traded, or bought ,or got coop ads for bunch of links it doesn't matter they will still sandboxed

    at least in my experience

What do you mean by "sandboxed"? Does that mean that you have to wait your turn before you can come up to the top because you will be buried?

google appears to rnak newer site or newer links differently

site A created 2 years ago has 100 reciprical links and few one way link ranks top 10

    site B created within 6 months has 50, 100 , 200, 2000 links and ranks number 175

same exact optimization technique and totally different results
