Google is not something that any SE can overtake unless they do something really radical. Google has the experience and the fan-base to go on for years.
OK, I'm a lemming. I went over and checked out Cuil. If they controlled any volume, the black hats would dominate these listings. And...they are using irrelevant images for my sites and using my proprietary images to represent competitor's sites. Can you say copyright infringement ?
Afraid not.... since you posted them online freely... they ae now known as 'fair use'. Google it! Plus unless you actually copyright the images, you cannot claim infringement...you need to protect copyrights, trademarks, and service marks, used in business, by following the steps to register them properly.
Google got 61.9 percent share of the market in July. Yahoo at 2nd place with 20.5 percent share. New search engines have to cover alot of ground to catch up with yahoo, so kicking google out of business is out of question atm.
I think the Google Era is coming to an end in terms of making money via publishing. My reasoning for this is that over the last few years it seems the ammount paid per click has been decreasing. However, my Google searching days are far from over as it is still, and in my opinion, will be the most comprehensive search engine for a while to come.
Interesting, however I disagree.. 90% of america when you say the word internet or computer they think google. People rely and live on google, how do I know this? because I do aswell. It is not getting replaced for some time to come. --sean
I don't think Google Era will end. Google is the best source for genuine and targeted visitors. If anyone thinks that Google era is over then just ignore the Google for couple of months and work on other search engines you will notice the difference very easily.
I agree with that too... Google has too much of a hold on the market.. I have used CUIL and Searchme and they are nowhere near the comprehensive indexing giant that is "Google".
OP, your so wrong, i wish you were right, but google are so far advanced, so rich, that it doesn't matter who is growing, its not by chance that they will stay on top, it was determined before they even began to grow years ago. Google is part of "the agenda" look into the whole thing a little deeper.
Attention! Attention, I have hot news for all of you, who adore this thread! This is a big mistake and misunderstanding. It's all not about End of Google Era Just check it directly in the source! google.com/search?q=google+era+is+over Google itself admits that: google earth is over You know what does it mean?
yes. i have been seening the bot from cool (cuil.com) about a month, they look to be indexing in more details. cheers for the news. but i very much doubt that searchme.com will make any significant impact.. as the website latency and pretty high..
Dont you know Google is the biggest company in the world where they face inch to inch competition with Microsoft corporation for being the one with LARGE AMOUNT OF WEALTH! ? Why dont you just think over a simple fact? Google can easily bring in new & amble changes to their engine using their money! Moreover they have the worlds best talents working for them! Dont just write down things without thinking TWICE!
Since this thread was only started by a spammer looking for adsense clicks I am now unsubscribing. Also red repped the OP and would ask all others to do the same.
no one in near future can compete Google, if you really think Google era is over, then why don't you block your site for Google bot and see the difference and then tell the Google Era is over
What a joke here If you mention Yahoo or Live, then atleast i think once, but with cuil and searchme, you are just a day dreamer.
And there is a reason people switched to, and continue to use Google - because it searches well, and eclipsed Yahoo! Search in pretty much every field. From a user perspective, if I switched to Cuil or SearchMe (or even to Live or Yahoo!) I would lose time and most likely never see the results I wanted (if you search "Google" in CUIL, Google Earth is the first result, not something I'd trust with my queries)
