Google engineers are studying two of my sites

Hi,

My visitor tracking software show that Google engineers at their head office in Mountain View are studying my websites for hours. I can see exactly where my visitors come from and what keywords they use in the major search engines.

They were over 100 times to my sites in the last 7 months.

I think the reason is because my one website have over 3000 keywords and phrases in the the top 10 Google SERPs from tens of millions of other websites. A lot are no1.

The other website have over 1000 keywords in the top 10 in Google.

Did you also experience similar visits to your sites where Google's engineers spend hours at a time to study your site?

Are you sure they are Google's engineers not Google's crawlers.

It could possibly be google crawlers, but my sites get crawled daily.

In the reports it shows 5 returning visits in a 5 hour span.

 

Seems a fairy tale to me.
Disclose your websites and some keywords here. You will get some visitors from this forum as a bonus.

 

Looks like my sites are visited by engineers, too. (Sound better than crawlers)

 

What kind of traffic are you getting with such a high rankings?

I get on average between 450 and 1000 unique niche targeted visitors to my site daily.

I think it could be crawlers, but why does it get a lot of returning visits and show the time spend on site in 5 hours +

 

It should be the crawlers they can not study the web site by site , they have to work collectively.

 

Sounds like crawlers to me. Freshbots in particular.

 

With 3000 top tier KWs you only get 450-1000 per day? I would think you would get more traffic. I get you run a blog that you have built up authority over time and this is why you have such solid rankings in the SERPs. I hope google doesn't use your website as a test bed for some new anti-spam filters.

I've also got a site that has over 1,700 different page 1 search terms, alot No1 and some 250 million plus results.. But no Google engineers lol

Can you share their IP and useragent? 5 hours is too long for a human.

 

for my previous forum i get atleast 3 google spiders each time i visit... sometimes one stay for 2-3 hrs...

most of my pages in forum were listed soon to them also

 

Its not engineers, its crawlers and yes I have seen logs where crawlers sometimes spend 10 to 12 hours on 1 site.....

There definitely not Engineers. I know because for one, Google doesn't use Engineers to study sites, they use their bots and if anyone surveyors to study. Engineers cost waay too much to make them study a site. They have better things to do instead of studying a low hit site.

 

If it gets to the point where an engineer is studying your site, then it must mean you are doing something seriously wrong

 

Don't know whats going on, but why wouldn't people working at Google spend a certain amount of time every day just surfing around.
They are not always working.
Maybe its Google Janitors or Google Receptionists that your site appeals to.
