I use google earth and sometimes it works in Direct X mode and sometimes it doesn't it only works in OpenGL mode. Any ideas on what causes this and how to run it only in DirectX mode?

The only thing I could think of is your graphics card....make sure you have the lastest driver for it...

Also, Windows has some issues depending on your software configuration.

Like what? I'm switching to linux as soon as I get my cd burner working. Google Earth doesn't work on it though. There's a NASA tool that does though.

What country are you in? That sucks, people don't understand what the tools are made for. In that case they should block Google earth from the IP ranges in those other countries.
