Google & Dynamic URLS

We're having a discussion in another forum about Miva Merchants dynamic URL's and whether or not it's necessary to do a modrewrite on the url's to make them easier to index. My argument is that as long as your URL doesn't have more than 3 or 4 parameters, then modrewriting isn't worth the time as Cutts outlined in a video back over a year ago that googe treats these URL's the same exact way as static URL's.

So here's an example of some of the dynamically generated miva URL's and maybe you guys can give me some more insight. I actually know I'm right here, but am mostly looking for back up and maybe hope to save people a headache with worrying about this stuff in the future.

    Miva Home Page URL
    http://www.test.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=SFNT&Store_Code=B

    Miva Category Page URL
    http://www.test.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=B&Category_code=BMJ

    Miva Product Page URL
    http://www.test.com/mm5/merchant.mv...Product_Code=EVANGELINENECK&Category_Code=BMJ

So I know that the prod page has 4 parameters, but we've had a good deal of success with these pages ranking in google as well. So do you guys think its worth the efforts of a modrewrite or stick with whats working.

I am in a similar situation with this.

About 2 years ago, I developed a business and service directory, that provided results pages with the parameters as part of the url. I have not had any problem with my search enging positioning, and am right at the top for a huge number of results.

I do think that static urls look nicer, but I don't want to take the chance and modrewrite all the URLS, as my search engine positions are more important to me than how the URL looks.

In the future though, the next time I start building a site that will be dynamically based, I will most likely use the modrewrite from the start of development.
