    Hi,

I have a site built with php, and now i'd like to remove and replace them with pure html pages. Note that all php pages are already indexed by Google. Also new pages content are the same as the old one.

What do you think? Will my site be penalized due to duplicate content? If so, how come?

Just set up 301 redirects in an htaccess file from the old pages to the new. It will probably take several months for the search engines to pick up the new pages and transfer pr and keyword rank so only do it if you want long term improvement.

Not at all a worry... first, setting up the 301s would be an idea...

Second - if you have a sitemap, the bots will ingest that as well.

Third, U most dupliate content stuff is about filters not penalties per se...
