Google has announced overly it may phasing out the substantiation for Internet Explorer 6 of 1 March 2010 whereas currently decision is taken following the cyber fits on Google searching engine. Google stated who key functionality of Docs, Calendar, Gmail and Sites could halt attempting these days in on the old version of Internet Explorer 6 and these types of applications can merely run amid Microsoft IE 7+, Mozilla Firefox 3.0+, Google Chrome 4.0+ and Safari 3.0+. Even although approximately 20% net users are attempting through IE6 but according to IE6 No More Campaign that is supported by !no! as opposed to 70 web firms, now old version of Microsoft web browser performs not balance the criteria of up to date web technology so there is no trigger for its occurrence any more. Although Microsoft has admitted the IE6 vulnerability challenge as of September 2009 and announced the release of patch to fix the crisis in February 2010. But the announcement of Google to preclude the substantiation to IE6 might of course post a help to greater number of rival web browsers of Microsoft particularly to Mozilla Firefox that is finish pretty well to Microsoft IE in the top browser store and stands at instant place whereas in a small amount of countries of globe it has during taken Internet Explorer as a web browser and just recently it has released the newest version Firefox 3.6.
This should be good. ie6 is no good and since browser updates are free people should just update. You also get a better internet experience.
Any step towards putting the nail in the IE 6 coffin is a good one. Its a bit cheeky but this site : http://ie6update.com offer a bit of code to try and get your visitors to update from IE 6. I wouldnt use it but the more people that do the sooner we dont have to code for IE6
If you are using IE 6 , it is really time you should upgrade. Can't blame anyone for not supporting such legacy software when IE7 and 8 are freely available.
They already do. Depending on how old your version of OS distro is, tells you what version of IE the OS will install.
I don't refute IE6 flaws because they exist and are pretty annonying, but just wondering in millions of people around the world who barely can buy old computers with obsolete software including IE6 so finishing Google support for that version is discriminating all those persons or an attempt to force everybody to move to Chrome that doesn't run in obsolete operating systems
I sort of agree, why leave people with nothing? If it's not 100% compatible, that should be up to the end user, and not Google. I understand no longer designing around IE6, but I'm hoping they don't exclude IE6 users altogether and deny them access to Google based sites.
