    Hi all,

My site used to be on the first pages on Google for certain keywords, then for about a month and half the site was down. About 2 weeks ago I put it back up and I noticed I am not even in the first 20 pages for those keywords I used to be on the first place...

Another thing before I used a very SEO friendly script now I am using Vbulletin (I made it to be a forum)

My question is what was the main reason in my huge drop in google rankings

    1) The fact that the site was down or
    2) I switched from SEO friendly script to not as SEO friendly script

    thanks for your replies

Forums are generally not very SEO friendly. I don't know about vBulettin but in my experience with phpBB, very little of my traffic was generated from search engines.

You might be able to find a mod for your forum to make it more SEO friendly if you look around a bit, I've seen ones for phpBB but haven't looked for vBulletin.

In SEO, you cannot point out what exactly could be involved. In your case, I think both these reasons could have led to the drop in rankings.

Also, Google updated its backlinks this week, and a lot of sites are seeing drastic changes in SERPs. Maybe that could be another reason for the drop in your site rankings.
