So yeah google has now came out with Google Drive which is a cloud based drive service, simliar to file sharing but limiting the files to your account, has a neat program you download, and you put anything you want to be uploaded in a folder you put and it will automatically start uploading. It's 5GB free, and you can upgrade to 25GB for under $3 a month, seems cheap, and not to bad, I'll for sure put my pictures on there incase of a memory card failure. https://drive.google.com Doesn't require another signup, if you have a Google account your ready to go, just sign in! Enjoy!
But you forgot that it is own by Google. Anything suspicious and they will delete all of your files so be careful.
Yeah I doubt they would delete anyone's data even someone deemed suspicious they don't want to get sued, but not only that is they NEVER delete any data and they admit to this, I would just upload photos from all my memory cards incase one dies or crashes and I can't recovery it boom It's there and free, along with many important files. I trust them with my email, my cell phone, why can't I trust them with my personal files? *winks*
I Agree with him, the drive is own by google, read the copyright and terms and condition if you want to totally depend on Google drive, Cause now a days we can't believe anything with Google Products..
Hey thanks for the thread. Actually 2 weeks back i have heard about Google drive and it is going to offer some free space for anyone. I will be trying it now. Again thanks, i will share this news with my mates.
Then what is the problem dear ? ...Just read rules and regulation bofore uploading any file there at google whenever they will deliver such services. This will be very interesting because you don't need to buy anyhing more from local market.
But Dropbox requires sending invites to get enough space. Am using 4Sync, they give you the whole 15GB for free, which is unbeatable now, as far as I recall
Google can even snoop around what you're doing, especially if you're SEO, with the use of Google Chrome. They're getting pretty sneakier and I think signing up for Google Drive could mean suicide for an optimizer or SEO. If you're happy and contented with the service your online storage provider, then just stick with it. Google's free 5GB just might be part of their marketing strategy to lure us in. Careful!
I'm not that sure Google Drive means suicide for SEOs... Anyway, for a simple user, Google Drive is great. But from a personal point of view, I still prefer Dropbox.
use dropbox instead.. have used it for ages, and never had a problem so I agree with Watt2k. Dropbox works so well and provides so much freedom for the user! you should absolutely check it out if you are using google cloud currently
I use google drive to hold movies whenever I go somewhere and want to access some new movies that I've downloaded
It may seem insecure to store data on Google's cloud drive, but Google's immense security policies helps protect the customer's data. And free 5 GB space is not a bad deal, if given for free. Moreover, the up-gradation fee's is also really low, only $3 for 25 GB.
