Google domain age and links reset after domain expires?

I stupidly a bunch of my sites expire because they were on a different godaddy account than my main... They are about a week expired, so I was wondering if all links and age is reset, hence rendering them as "new" sites.

    Worried,
    Chris

What are you meaning with "links reset"?
Just because your domain name stops working it will not automatically delete all links pointing to it from other websites.

I guess what I meant to say is.. will all links pointing to the site be devalued.. and if so... to what extent?

If your domains are expired & in the mean time your links with in the specified sites will be deleted whenever Googlebot will see the page related to your website.

No how can age of a domain be reset? and no the links don't loose value as long as they stay on the third party sites.

There might be some level of devaluation but the effects will go to the expired domain for being offline..

I don't really think there will be any huge effect. I buy expired domains all the time for my autoblogs and they work perfectly.

Definitely links remains in your site will be inactive and deleted from the server. try to renew your account with the domain service provider.. like godaddy...:)

If the domain stays expired for a longer period of time, say more than 2 or 3 months, then it shows up as a 404 error, and google will deindex it.

If your domain has expired just a week back then you can request for its renewal (within 60 days).
Usually the traffic on the expired domains recovered but the bad part is chances of recovering linked domain is very less.

It is definitely not a problem. I think you are misunderstanding the general SEO observation that aged domains and aged links are more powerful than new ones.

You seem to feel that your domain 'died' and must now start over again. That is not true. Think of it more like the domain 'went on a 1 week vacation'. :)

The site is still there, links still exist, and a domain record is updated.

It depends on you whether you are using some old expired domain (after buying it) or renewing it (with in the period)

If you are renewing it then it will not be considered as new website.

On the other hand if it is re-included by google then it will wipe out all the WhoIs information.
But, backlinks of the expired domains exists on the web...
