Google doing anything funky today?

I've noticed an established site drop off the radar in rankings for a keyword which has been stable for years.

Is anyone else experiencing a decrease in search traffic from G today?

 

I'm sort of relieved to see this is not just me, I had a 1st page ranked well established site drop to page 50 suddenly, so yes something is going on. anyone has any ideas??

 

I installed the wordpress SuperCache plugin because hosting shut the site down due to the load on the server. No idea if that was a coincidence or not.

 

I have seen sites jumping around all over the shop today.

I have seen a site on mine on page 2, page 4, page 9 and page 12 all in a few hours. They are definitely tweaking!

 

I hope so! I have had many first page rankings drop completely off the radar today and I wasn't doing anything shady with the site. If anything, when caffeine was rolled out the traffic actually increased.

You can never tell with google. They are getting too cocky for their own good these days.

 

One of my sites was sitting for a few months on page 1 for a keyword, then it randomly dropped off to god knows what page like a week ago. Thought I possibly found myself in the mythical sandbox. Then it went right back to first page a few days later. Checked the site yesterday and it dropped off page 1 again.
