I disagree with that, reporting a spammer is a public service. The more crap people have to wade through when they are searching for something, the less they will trust search engines to provide them with the information that they're looking for.

In the long term, these spammers will do themselves out of business because their actions will inevitably push down the price that advertisers will be willing to pay for traffic.

Mind you, I don't expect that many of these .ru spammers think about the long term. Why bother building a quality website and investing in a long term strategy when they can probably make the equivalent of a years salary in whatever East European country they're hiding in.

I think it is time for legitimate web publishers to declare open war on these spammers. I'm sick and tired of them. My site is getting trashed in Google's SERPs and thus I have lost over 80% of my traffic/revenue because of Google's efforts to clamp down on spammers and at the same time, I'm having to allocate more and more resources to detecting and blocking site scrappers and referrer log spammers simply to keep my databases from crumbling under their rapid fire requests. Yesterday I moved my database to a new server and today I've already had a referrer spam bot that got passed my defenses make so many requests so quickly that my limit for simultaneous database connections was exceeded.

I promise you that from now on every time I find a scrapper/garbage MFA site (especially if I find it because of some bot causing me problems), I will report the site to AdSense if they are running AdSense ads. I am also going to start reporting spam sites via Google's Webmaster Central (aka Sitemaps).

This little war between Google and spammers is costing me thousands of dollars and causing me to lose some really good long term direct advertisers. I'm not going to sit by and simply keep taking it up the ass. I am really sick and tired of my site being ground zero for the war between Google and the spammers. I've had it. The gloves are coming off and I'm going to go after spammers and do what ever I can to help bring them down.

I'm way beyond being mad now.

Google has been getting owned by spam ever since the first so called "Data Refresh" took place.

Trustrank is being exploited by spammers big time so much so that I believe that Google's engineers must be smoking some high grade crack.

I see plenty of serps where the first 1-100 results are 70% spam, cracK!.
I see .edu domains on top in the adult serps, CRACK!.
I see original content pages being replaced by spam, Crack!.
Iseespam - Name originated from seeing a ridiculous amount of spam in Google:p .

No Goggle have set there filters too tight and are pulling in too many bonafide good people like me.. I have tried to promote my businesses and google just interprets this promotion as Spam . so i have do things gently and slowly with google.. until there egg heads figure out a better way to do things.

it depends with what one is referring to. I think google is doing a good job especially with its gmail where i don't receive spam and only a few trusted pple have my email. No scammers' emails from Nigeria:D like in yahoo!
