    Why Google doesn't recognize backlinks?

    1. Here I have just 2 backlinks:
    http://www.google.com/search?q=info....,cf.osb&fp=5f7ee2f34e758d0e&biw=1152&bih=750

    2. Here - much more:
    http://www.google.com/search?q=info%3Awww.wood-furniture.biz&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-USfficial&client=firefox-a#hl=en&client=firefox-a&hs=Fe2&rls=org.mozilla:en-USfficial&q="www.wood-furniture.biz"&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.,cf.osb&fp=5f7ee2f34e758d0e&biw=1152&bih=750

    3. According to Google Webmaster Tool - site has a few thousands backlinks from 950 domains ( also form sites with PR9, 8,7,6,5)

What is wrong? Why I have just PR2 for this domain: wood-furniture.biz

I have the same problem and I know Google just ran an update on November 1st because I had a sudden decline in traffic.

If google doesn't recognize backlinks why is there all this "backlink" producing Black Hat software on the market?

Google doesn't show all backlinks on its search engine, you can view a bigger sample in Google Webmaster Tools though.

I thought that was the case with Google. I really wish google would be more anal retentive with backlinking, that way I don't have to wonder if all the backlinks I have produced via white hat methods are legitimate and active.

I'm glad you mentioned this... I just started my own blog and wanted to make some back links. I'm not sure where to start so I'm gonna have to do some homework ;)

Google won't show you the "real" stats.
To really get an idea of your link profile you'll probably have to pay for a service.
But I guess there are some solid free tools as well

Try checking your backlinks using Yahoo Site Explorer and Open Site Explorer. Do your links show up there?
To others - keep in mind it can take Google over a month+ to start to count links you've built to your site.

Awesome. Google still doesn't recognize any of my links but the Yahoo Site Explorer managed to find a couple back links. With google being the number one search engine, you'd think they'd be the first to show back links.

What a thread! This is really helpful. I've been having problems with my backlinks nowadays, i never thought that this is the reason. Maybe i'll just check this on my Google Webmaster Tools. Google is somehow keeping the real stat from us.

it's probably all your backlinks are not worthty or the sites on them have not been updated in ages, I think google will show you the best links possible, and it seems acording to yahoo that only 600 backlinks exist, while you claim to have 800+ domains so that leaves us with 1 page per a domain which is relatively low (yahoo will show all pages with bl). that's probably why you also have only PR2 because of the quality of the links, perhaps forgged domains or something.

ok now i think most of your backlinks are from directories? that might explain the reasson... so I doubt you really have PR5-9 PAGES that have BL, maybe only the main domain is PR5-9 and the page is probably PR1-2

it's a woner how so many webmasters sometimes submit their website to a list of 1000 directories when all they will get out of it is 1000 links of worthless PR0-1 links when in reality a simple PR4-5 backlink will be probably achive the same effect (there is some study online that shows you the equal number of PR(X) needed to achive PR(Y)

You do have good backlinks but the high ranking ones are from directories like iwebtool, aftermarket, pegasusdirectory, etc. Try to diversify.

You need to ping your back links from bulkping.com.

For sure, google has changed the pagerank algorithm.

Some sites that have minimum number of backlink, even they are 0, got pagerank.

    So what should we do?

Improve the quality of your site. I think the new algorithm needs that in order to boost up your domain pagerank.

This is happened to many ppl, and you can see the pagerank of domains parked on godaddy auctions. Changes and changes.
