Any idea why Google doesn't index this site. http://www.coolcarshows.com/ The domain is over a year old. I had it as a whypark.com site for about a year (it was fully indexed and getting a little traffic) About three months I finally started developing it. I uploaded a site map about a month ago with 51 pages. This is recognizd by google but webmaster tools shows no indexing. google tools shows that google crawls an average of 3 pages a day and goes up to about 10 There are no crawl error and the robots.txt file does not restrict google (except to 3 old pages, I was wondering if it was a problem of not seeing the old pages) While it is not heavily linked to, there are enough that Google would normally index the site, so don't just comment "get more links" in order to run up your post count. One other possibility Ive been thinking of. Originally (up to about a week ago) the map on the front page had a link going to each state, so there were over 50 links on the front page (possibly looked spammy on a new site??) This is now in a iframe so google doesn't see the links (i'm linking to the interior pages from other pages. Ususally I can get Google to index a site within a day or two (at least the front page), I've been waiting a couple months on this one.
Sounds really weird. Did you buy the domain name from scratch or did you get it from someone else? Might be worth using google webmaster tools and ask for the site to be reincluded. See here: google.com/support/webmasters/bin/answer.py?answer=59833
Bought it from scratch. The domain doesn't appear to be ever used before. I've had it for well over a year. I checked your link and followed the instructions. I don't have any pages that have been removed so I can't reinclude them. thanks for the thought though.
What do you normally do to get your site indexed? Presumably you have done all the obvious things like digging it and submitting the domain to some of the website valuation services etc.
Usually getting links from related sites. This is a national wide version of two more local sites I have, Both of the other sites are doing very well. Those have been linking to this site for a couple months. I also have other sites linking to it. Digg doesn't work real well on this sort of site. And I'm not sure what "website valuation services" you are referring to. Google knows the site site is there and has a site map of the main pages. You don't need to hire a service, just have enough links to the site that google can find it.
Weird. Interestingly this thread is now showing for coolcarshows.com. I have some software that submits your site to a number of them. Ran it through just now, figured it cant do any damage. Sometimes it gets my sites indexed immediately and sometimes it doesnt seem to make any difference! Anyway sorry I cant be of more help.
Sometime, you can feel hard to index your domain on Google. Just found some big forum like Digital Point and put your link and signature. It will help you gain good result.
have you submitted Sitemap to Webmaster Tools? May help. Sometimes it will take 1-2 months to get indexed but if it takes longer than this could be something wrong. To me suggests duplicate content or do you have lots of low quality backlinks??
It's strange, because it's indexed in Yahoo. Try adding <meta name="robots" content="index, follow">. Maybe it will help.
@James Bond Yes, submitted sitemap about a month ago All unique content, and no I have not gotten a bunch of cheap back links. Several PR2 -4 links all on the same topic. @blueyes I have a robots.txt file and it is correct.
Thnks for discussion on indexing problem. Even i am also facing the same problem. One of my client's website' page is not indexing since 3 months, but remaining pages are indexing at different time, except one page for which i need. I did all kind of seo techniques for that page, but still i did not get any indexing from google.
