Google does not show my backlink while Yahoo is showing hundreds of them. I have submitted sitemap last week. What can be the possible problem and how can I fix it?
Google only selects some backlinks. Yahoo shows backlinks from everywhere, I also think they count many links on one site as a single backlink, whereas Google only count 1 backlink per URL.... (correct me if I'm wrong other DP'ers)
Google doesn't show all backlinks that a site has. Google updates its link operator data every 3 or 4 months (just like PR)..so if your site is relatively new, it may take some time before Google starts showing backlinks.
Google is selective about backlinks. It will only want to recognize backlinks that are of similar theme to your site and have few links on one page.Google is of late taking a look at bought links and may be devaluing them.
In general, I think this is true, but it's not that Google never misses spam sites even. Relevant backlinks are key, but how relevant a backlink should be is another thing. As long as a backlink is placed in an ok-site, the PR points should be passed in many cases. But this won't probably affect on the SERP.
you have to wait for google to update - its pretty slow lol - patience is the key - but it doesnt mean that you dont have backlinks - it just means its not listed on google, not yet
it just takes a long time to get it shown. I have a site about a very specific topic... and it has backlinks shown on a totally different.... everything.. so the relevance thing is pure BS people come up with as far as proof and evidence can prove Just time
If you want to get an idea via google of who is linking to your site search for this: ::www.yoururl.com The two :: in the beginning being key.
2 questions to you. google does not updates the backlinks daily on weekly. it mostly updates the backlinks before the page rank update
Maybe your backlinks was not yet indexed when google started updating backlinks. Google don't display all your backlinks but you can see more on google webmaster tools.
Is it possible that backlinks are not showing because a site is still 'sandboxed'? I am in the same situation with a relatively new site, I assumed the backlinks were not showing due to the 'sandbox' effect.
The link:website operator in Google returns a small percentage of all links to your website.Backlink drops (0 backlinks) are common when a website is new or when a PR update (more on that shortly) is in progress. Click here: http://www.seonewsblog.com/google-backlinks-faq
