Yes, you are correct. Google will show your page meta description tag only if the searched keyword is not found on the page content.
If you have the searched keyword, Google will pick the text around the keyword. Search for your site:http:// your-domain-name and it will show all your pages with the correct description.

Well, I don't seem that there's any problem it looks good about meta description I think meta description are showing !! are you having problem with the older meta description or ??? If you are having problem with the old meta desc then do one thing use the Fetch as google option available at your webmaster tool, it will get update after a while.

    Hi John,
Google picked meta description from page content , i have mentioned different meta description
    For Example
Bellowed Meta Description what i have made for that page
<meta name="description" content="Surprise your loved one with fresh cut flowers directly delivered to their doorsteps; send flowers to India online, best deals & free home delivery available." />
Google search shows bellowed meta description for same page for keyword: " flowers to india"
As we have made a study from our own survey in determining, the floral collection people will love to gift someone. Send flowers to India on just a simple click.
If you are searching page URl
    domainname/flowers
then google search result displays correct meta description what i have made
<meta name="description" content="Surprise your loved one with fresh cut flowers directly delivered to their doorsteps; send flowers to India online, best deals & free home delivery available." />
    But
    Meta Title got changed

Its the quality of Google to serve the best for its users. I think this will help you to understand the scenario. Google Says:

Also I agree with @johndave that you can use fetch as Google option of Webmaster Tools and wait for sometime to get desirable results.
