Google does not approve of buying and selling links

Google is not the constitution but they are powerful. They do not approve of buying and selling links. Something you should know.

So what can Google do to you? Well, there is always the threat of being de-listed from their index if you don’t tow the Google company line. However, the sentence most often handed down if you commit the crime of blatantly selling text links is they will block your website from passing PageRank to your advertisers. In the end, this will force new sites to buy AdWords if they want to be found.

You can sell links if you add the nofollow to the links.

it is not entirely true that google doesn't allow buying or selling links. google doesn't allow buying or selling links intended to boost pagerank but for advertising pusposes, they do allow it as long as you have rel-nofollow attribute added to the links you are buying or selling

I don't know, I never use blogger. But if you can edit html in blogger, simply add rel="nofollow" inside the A tag. But often people buying links do it if the links are dofollow. So..

Didn't Google penalize a company that sells Links by removing them from SE Listings?

How should i remove my paid link?

I'm not getting penalized, but when i removed some my paid links fearing that some day google will find a way and flag the paid links, my SERP dropped within 1 month of the removal of the paid links!! I removed the links a few links at a time every week.

Any suggestions how I should ween out the paid links without getting dropping on SERP??

I was thinking about adding nofollow tag to the paid links, but why bother? it would still have the same effect as dropping the links altogether right? correct me if I'm wrong here.

It's easy for google to find out if the links are paid or not because usually peole buying links don't do it only on your site!
So Google simply can detect an unnatural linking campaign when lots of links with similar anchors simply appear on several sites, for a "shitty" site, meaning a site which is not really worth of such linking and is most probably linked because its owner paid the links.

I agree, only IF the sites are "shitty"

but if you buy links from "trusted" sites which google favors, you still get credit for it. I've seen paid links from a tons of sites done properly with multiple keywords, making it look natural, and it moves a site up on the SERPs. Google is not as advanced as you think in sorting out paid links. The best defense google has is webmaster reporting paid links.

If it is true google is capable of sorting out the links well, then buying paid links should not alter the SERP, but in reality, paid links does alter SERPS. This means google is still trying to figure out how to sort paid links.

My struggle is removing the links that google knows that are paid. Ideally i would like to remove all the paid links altogether, however i some of these "Credited" paid links are hurting me when I remove them because google doesn't know I paid them.

Stripped pagerank, and not ranking for your own domain, ive experienced it, i was sentenced to 2 years inside for it, just got released within the last few weeks.

I dont recommend heavy use of nofollow as an alternative, it looks as bad in a way.

I highly recommend not bragging about pr increases, i never have but some naive people do.
