OK, I need to be enlightened. Two people have made some negative connotations to .info domains. Why? Wazzup with .info domains?
.info domain names are used because of their cheap nature by many link farmers, who attempt to pass their websites off as directories either purposefully or through a lack of knowledge. They're a mark of filth on what would otherwise be a great industry. It's made worse by the fact that most directory list owners continue to send them hundreds of visitors. If you see a .info website running a directory script, it's almost certain to be a link farm.
Oh, thanks. I run www.treeworld.info and it has nothing to do with directories however I'd hate to be pooled into some black hole due to the choice of a .info over an alternative. I chose the .info as it's an information site not commerce. I thought directories would be best run on .net domains
Someone is actually using it for the right reason, nice IMO, I thought .ORG fits best for ORGanizing links in order. What's with this Anti-Directory thread, sure there are hundreds of bad ones, but there are hundreds of bad ones of everything on the net, I mean get a life already.
where did you get that idea? Google likes quality directories. Where's your proof that Google don't like directory? I have many proofs that google really likes directory. One example that Google like are directories that have high PRs.
I have to add another...Google is a program that has no feelings on what your site is about, it simply don't give a sh%t on what it is. Web directories are treated equally like any other web sites, with that said, some directories wont mount to anything and some will, this goes the same with any other sites.
Just like to ask.. if Google doesn't like web directory sites then why does our site was index? I tested the only web directory submission and forum posting technique in a week and the result is good..
i think the issue here is that your site(s) probably suck so bad that even an auto approve directory will reject your submissions!
