Since the majority of my webpages and blogpages were omitted (some entries very similar to the ... already displayed) I had lost a lot of traffic. Unless you use meta description Google picks the snippets automatically; and thats often not much pretty. You should add the meta description if you wanna make sure it looks nicer.

doesn't matter what the meta is. for long tailed keywords,when someone searches, on site text can show instead of the meta. in your example,"website" was one of the keywords,so it pulls that word and text around it. i'm guessing you don't have the word "website" in you meta and anywhere on site except for a box to enter your website. that is why. using a plugin in like that is a good idea,but still doesn't guarantee it always will show the meta.
