Google Display Network

I had my one and only campaign paused and made sure my Display Network unchecked. However, I still got 30 clicks after I unchecked it. I ended up deleting my ad campaign - thinking that there is now way my ads can get out there.

My question is - when I paused my campaign and my display network was unchecked - why did my ads continue to show on the display network?

I may take some time for your settings to be updated.

Are you saying the click came only from the display network not the Search network?

    Timelag.
The ads didn't stop dead the second you paused them, i think they say somewhere it can take up to an hour for changes to take effect, that's from memory, it'll be in the Adwords hel p files somewhere. Also reporting is up to 3 hours behind.
Plus, you may still get a few clicks after that from people on cached pages.
