Does anyone have views on the seo benefit of being listed in the google directory? e.g. does it add to a site's reputation/trust to help with higher serps? Also, how do you get listed in the google directory? Thanks Gordano
Utter rubbish. DMOZ is adding >2000 new sites a month! (if you don't believe me, check some successive rdf dumps and see the number listed) A link in the Google directory, which occasionally updates itself from the DMOZ rdf dump is just a good link; nothing more and nothing less. To get listed in the Google Directory, you need to suggest your site to DMOZ. It will help your SEO about as much as any other good link. You can still do well without it.
