Anything to make a buck and google is no different. Afterall, they sell adsense for topics banned by most work firewalls, right? This is no different. Question is can advertisers actually monetize on myspace ads and the history of this is somewhat dubious.

fox didn't buy myspace for its revenue potential, they bought it because of the demographic it reaches. It's probably the best marketing tool a media outlet could ask for.

No way...that couldn't be the reason:eek:

Anyway, the real question here is how long myspace will continue to captivate America's youth. Elderly/middle age people for example will always need investment advice, golf, medication, and casinos for example. That will NEVER change. But will younder people continue to need myspace? I could see traffic dropping in half for no apparent reason expect that the userbase lost interest. Young people tend to gravitate to what is 'hip' and if myspace looses its hipness traffic will falter.

Actually, that makes a lot of sense. More and more advertising for Fox TV shows (and they're getting a lot of money from NBC) can be found on MySpace, some shows having whole pages to themselves.

However, I don't think that's the only reason they bought it. It is a great social networking tool, and will be even more of a money earner when they release the "paid services" I read about on the site.
