This thread is meant to be general google I am using the KW tracker as an example but move this post if you think its in the wrong place

It seems to be well known that different google datacenters can return different results. It is beleived by some that a few datacenters are used to test different algorithms. I have experienced this while checking results for one of my sites.

In particular it would appear that the datacenter used by the DP keyword tool is one of these, at least recently, perhaps they change which datacenters are used for tests. There are many posts on this forum regarding the keyword tracker showing different rankings than a search from other locations.

I have been following this for a few weeks now and it seems the datacenters that were showing different results were

    216.239.37.99
216.239.39.104 I am thinking that one of these datacenters are used by the DP keyword tracker based in California
edit: I could be wrong here KW traker is still reporting same results although I can't find the site I've been following in any datacenter right now.
For the record, what datacenter does the KW tracker use?

    and

    72.14.207.104
    72.14.207.106
72.14.207.99 appearing to be used for queries on New York, New Jersey, and parts of Canada.

As of today these datacenters are reporting the same results as the rest.

I will continue to monitor this situation and this may have to do with the expected updates this weekend, may be something interesting to watch.

The 5 DCs you reference are showing the 'alternate' results for me. By alternate I mean a different set than what has been shown recently in general search, and different from the others.

In the alternates, I move from #5 to #4. So, I'm hoping this is the one that sticks. :)

This may be a temporary change but these datacenters are the only ones that have been showing the site I've been watching. As of today it has dropped out completely for a term that was previously #1. I see you are in New Jersey Longcall911, what is your default datacenter?
