Hey Peeps, I would appreciate some help please. I am currently in the UK and I need to check my friends sites that only target Google.com (USA) and obviously I am not in the USA at the moment however if I check positions on Google.com while I am in the UK, wont the positions be wrong as the Data Centre will be UK? Please help me guys. I normally use a proxy to check however I dont trust them and the results are so different and normally very bad when checking through a proxy. Your advice would be appreciated. Thanks,
I've never noticed this... My results with a US proxy mirror the 'natural' results I get in the USA. Try a different proxy...
Try checking www.google.com/ncr (this also stops google auto redirecting you to the UK engine). Or as suggested, check the results from 2 different US based proxy servers - you could also compare some keyword results on these proxies with the google.com/ncr URL to see if they match - don't forget that Google has many datacentre's, and I have seen on UK google searches different rankings from 2 seperate computers at the same time - it all depends on what datacenter serves up the results to your query. Hope this helps.
Hi, I would like to recommend "Rank Checker" add-on for Firefox for this purpose. You could pick up which search engine you would like to use for SERP checking purpose. all the best,
You may consider these ways 1. Use aol.com to see results of Google.com based in US 2. Use anonymous proxy server which is using US IP based. 3. Use proxy software (installation needed) or online VPN to help you.
you can find website position on google in 160 countries with this free tool www.google-your-rank.com
