comments ?? read the rest of the thread + this thread I think we've been discussing this for a few days now. Go read what's already been said.
Seeing a lot of ebay and Yahoo store results at the top of the serps for my terms. Perhaps ebay, G and Y are going to merge to drive out MSN. Now there's a conspiracy theory for ya.
Everyone's guess is anonymous and wild. I am getting tired fo this things. Can somebody tell me from some solid source that when is this PR update going to be. I am waiting for it from years.(It seems like that).
It will be when it happens - that's all anyone outside of Google knows. If anyone tells you different they're bullshitting. Matt.Cutts says it might happen in a couple of days - NOTE might, that doesn't mean will, which is how many people seem to be reading it. At the end of the day who gives a F*** when the PR update is, an increase in PR won't help my SERPs - although at the moment it's might help as much as anything else I might do.
Ummmm Errrrrr.. the Point is there is no Solid source on informations like when the PR update going to be or when google list your prime site for your prime keyword on the prime position. err Or ask Google, may be they can tell you. and for the last time. stop asking stupid question when you were told atleast 15 times there is no valid/trustworthy source to get info like that. learn/work how to improve your site. how to get better SERP. Forget when it will happen. If you have done it right, whenever it iwll happen, you'll be happy. err in most of the case.
Two points. First, PR updates are like sunshine, you know you'll wake up one day and the sun will shine, it might just be that it isn't tomorrow. Second, and more importantly, why haven't the two Google Dance Threads been merged? The same people posts in both about the same thing. I've seen threads merged for less
I believe the updates will happen in the next day or so. According to Matt Cutts blog he is stating the same thing. So I guess my beliefs on this are really derived from matt cutts wording Google's resident rock star, Matt Cutts, has posted that a little Google Dance is underway again. Google probably doesn't derive any pleasure from sending the ranks of SEO and SEM pros hustling to tweak hundreds of web sites for better placement each time they update. ( from webpronews.com) Mill
Agreed. It's a pain following 2 threads on exactly the same topic just incase I miss one important nugget.
So it seems like this is all about removing spammy results from the top of the listings and that might include removing sites that have duplicate content or 2 pages that basically do the same thing. For example, on my baseball web site, I recently moved all my players to a different directory structure and since I left my old ones in the root, I now have 2 player pages for each player. So a person does (did) a search on a player and received 2 listings for this player in the top ten results. Maybe this was considered spam and so my site was penalized or removed. In any case, I was planning on removing the old links anyways so I'm going to be removing those and hopefully it has an effect and if not, then no real loss anyways.
How often is the Google Dance? Whats its for? How long does it last? Im still confused about those things....
The google dance doesn't really exist any more as such. see http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=define:Google+Dance for what it used to mean. What we're seeing now is either a) an update, or b) something gone wrong. No one yet can say for certain. If it's something gone wrong then it will sort itself out - at some point. If it's an update then when things settle down completely we'll be able to come up with some serious theories as to what happened. At the moment it's a case of throwing enough information around so that some genius can spot somekind of pattern. Matt Cutts points towards an update, but his blog is so non-committal that you can't really be sure. Whatever it is, it has some way to run yet PS: I'm not having a dig at Matt, at least he's trying to say something. I know from previous posts of his that he is very carefull about what he does actually say - he's starting to sound more and more like a polititian at times saying lots without actually giving anything of real value.
If my comments mistreated minstrel or anyone else, I apologize for that. I thought I was just harmlessly expressing my disagreement. [edit]With some further research, I see I was most likely wrong or confused or both. Bompa
Last saw my PR going from 0 to 3 today morning. Jumped with joy. I know it will kepp fluctuating for some days but eventually I have nothing to lose as my PR was 0 and I am getting some. See my sig that is the site I am talking about.
not so fast. those who say that the search engine results are identical for all are forgetting google's geolocation. you get different results when you search at Google India (google.co.in) and and Google UK (google.co.uk) for instance. google prioritizes serps from your own country. for instance i was searching for "coke coal" the other day (don't ask). here is what you get in india http://www.google.co.in/search?hl=en&q=coke+coal&btnG=Google+Search&meta= here is what you get in the uk http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=coke+coal&btnG=Google+Search&meta= the top results at the indian site are all indian, EVEN IF you check "search the web" not "search pages from india" so clearly, my results and your results are not the same, if we live in different countries. if anyone should be eating humble pie on this one, it should be minstrel
