I haven't been glued to the keyword tracker, I'll admit, but no... I can't say that I'm seeing anything unusual.
Hmmm... I see no discrepancies on my main sites across the datacentres and no changes in PR or ranking. Possibly a slight increase in pages indexed but that's nothing unusual. Most significantly, all the datacenters appear to be in synch...
No thanks. I don't like that forum. Besides, I have checked again this morning and whatever they are seeing over there isn't affecting any of my sites. I've just used McDar's tool to check 4 sites. There is no variation (zero) across the datacenters for any of those sites. No asynchrony at all for backlinks, pages indexed, or PR. Nothing.
There is no Significant Update going on. this is Google's usual update. I see them every once in a while. Google loves movement, so they are moving somone up and someone down.
Everyone knows the folks over at webmasterworld know their stuff. They have a 28 page (and counting) thread going on about this update. I'd say its pretty significant. http://www.webmasterworld.com/forum30/31509-1-10.htm
"Everyone knows"? All I can tell you is (1) I can't see anything but a straight line on sites I'm looking at, and (2) the Google Dance is a relic from the past.
I didn't say anything about any "Dance." And if you judge G updates solely based on what your own sites are doing, you won't know when most of them happen. And yes, WebMasterWorld is one of the oldest WWW forums around and has a membership fee to keep out people those who don't know what they are talking about. There IS a significant update going on. Obviously, you don't want to because your site hasn't been affected, (nor has mine) but if you did read the WebMasterWorld thread, you would know more about it.
Ahh once again There is no Significant update going on, this is one of the regular updates, G has been doing for a while. every month you can see movement in SERP. for some of your keywords.
Definately seeing big movements on sites I am monitoring. It seems as though hub sites are given more weight.
I love the Google dance, it normally means that my sites go into the top 10 for my keywords for a couple of days before plumeting then going back to normal - but being on that first page for a couple of days is worth the same drop for a couple of days.
Thanks Did'nt i told you that there is some movement. Someone here prdicted it will take place on 10th. Today is 16th. What happened?? Why google is taking this much time.
Something that no longer really exists. See McDar's post above and the quote from GoogleGuy/Matt Cutts that someone else posted earlier in this thread. If you need more, see here: But bear in mind this is out of date and is no longer the way Google updates the databases -- again, see McDar's post above.
I have been trying hard for the last 7 - 10 days to see any kind of movement for any sites I see and really have seen nothing in those keywords. The only changes I have seen are from new sites getting spurious foreign google hits that they did not normally get before. Otherwise, I have not seen anything in anything I have been following, things have been extremely stable.
I'm with you, aeiouy. I do see a bit of bobbing up and down in keyword ranking using the DP tool although there is something decidely odd about the results the keyword tracker is serving up (for example, at the moment, the results are identical across the board for MSN, Yahoo, and Google which I find difficult to believe). When I use other tools or direct Google queries, I see a small amount of variation in number of pages indexed but identical results across the datacenters for PR and number of backlinks. Really, nothing out of the ordinary. That doesn't mean I don't believe the reports that other people are seeing wide variations. It just means I'm not seeing them.
Eek. .with the DP tool almost all my keywords are showing -9998 - luckely almost all my traffic comes from google image search, but I wonder what i did to deserve it.
