This time, yes. But there have been many occasions where a simple quote would have saved a lot of confusion
Please accept my apologies Mr Perrow! I have learnt my lesson and I will try and quote things in the future
Now will somebody tell me what's happening here??? No one is commenting on the real topic. Everyone goes in each direction!!!
To go back to the topic .... yes it is handy to include the quote to avoid confusion. I hope this answers your first question
I thought your question was answered on page 1 of this thread. 1. the "Google Dance" was a term used to refer to the pattern of search results across the various Google data centers back in the days when gthe index was only updated periodically and then propagated across all the data centers - it no longer exists because the index is no longer updated that way - it is now updated continuously in a process sometimes called "everflux" 2. the "PR change" you saw wasn't real to begin with because you used a "future PR" or "PR prediction" tool that isn't accurate and really has nothing except entertainment value
Then why the hell people put that kind of things on the forum where webmasters prowl. Does it misguide the new webmasters? yes it does. So i think people here should stop that kind of post which take new webmasters in wrong direction.
There are a lot of things on the net that are posted as truth that have little to do with reality. If you want to be a webmaster, you had better learn that in a hurry. Caveat emptor. Learn to be a critical thinker and don't take anything anyone says as fact until you verify it for yourself. That's why humans evolved brains.
It can be useful sometimes to be able to look and see what PR a site 'MIGHT' have were the tbpr to be updated now.m Those prediction tools can only be used as a guideline. I've found that the one at www.searchengineengine.com is normally within 1 PR if my sites are moving upwards. It's normally spot on if the site is staying the same. But (for me at least) it rarely seems to be accurate if a site is shown as moving downwards. What I've noticed. sites shown as increasing PR invariably do increase. sites shown as remaining the same do so. sites shown as decreasing PR can do anything (including increasing). These are only my observations - you may see something completely different
Keral, It can be a little confusing at times. I understand your frustration. That's how i felt when i started out too. Is it your rank in the SERPS (search engine results) that you're concerned about, or your PR. You mentioned 'Google Dance' which implies indexing, but you're also asking about PR, something entirely different. Which were you concerned about ?? Cheers, JL
I don't knwo the exact words about this. You can see in the post that i mentioned about an online tool which predicted my PR to be 4 I read that it is called google dance. I don't want to make this thread go on and on. I just wanted to clarify it. You want to post again and again. If you don't know the answer then don't post. It's simple.
Unfortunately knowledge is not a requisite for setting up an SEO page.. Sounds like you just got some less then correct information is all. Nothing to worry about... Seems like you have gotten the straight scoop here.. which is why this is an excellent resource. Just remember that just because someone puts something on a website doesn't make it true nor accurate.
Keral, unfortunately there is no way to tell what your future PR will be. The tools that 'predict' PR must be treated as novelty only. There are some excellent tools out there that will show you your *current* PR, in fact, they'll show you what your PR is from most of Googles datacentres, but none can 'predict' your future PR. Hope that helps. Weirfire: Naughty Spammer !! {not me btw} Cheers, JL
