I came across a Google Dance SERP checker which compares SERP results from Google.com with www2.google.com and www3.google.com

    the tool is here: http://www.google-dance-tool.com

and it looks like a pretty nice tool (nothing to do with me). the problem is that the serp results that it shows for Google.com don't match with the live results at the moment.

Has anyone else used this tool before? According to the description, if there's a difference between the three sets of results, a Google Dance is in progress. All of them look the same, so that would indicate no dance.

why then doesn't the SERP results shown for google.com match with the actual current results?

    any thoughts?

Depends if you have personalized search disabled or not. You have to remember to switch it off every time you clear your cookies as well for when you are not logged into google. (top right of search results pages where it says "web history" )

Also that search tool will probably be hitting different data centers than you are, so will show different results.

    Hi Vagrant,

the thing is, I'm not using my personal G search results, I'm using SERP checkers on the web. The results shown on http://www.google-dance-tool.com don't match up with current G serp results from other independant online serp checkers like http://www.seoserp.com/google_page_rank/1000_serp.asp and the Firefox seotoolbar RankChecker add on (usually very reliable).

For example, if I search for Jog on http://www.google-dance-tool.com I get one set of results (with all 3 sets of results lining up), but if i perform the same search on other online serp checkers I get a different set of results - any Idea why this would be or what it means?
