I'm currently using google adsense in my CSE and im currently wondering how to increase revenue in my search engine. From your guys experience, would these steps help me increase rev? - My sponsored results on the top are currently the same color background as the natural ads. Should I color them perhaps a light blue or yellow like yahoo and google? Make them standout? - Should I switch over to Yahoo? I heard there payouts are better if you do search with them (about $15-20 per 1,000). Im currently getting about $7.00 every 1,000 search queries through adsense, not really all that good. -Anything with a particular layout that would help me optimize harder and have people search more? My site layout is similar to google with the logo and the search bar. Mine is more centered in the middle of the page rather than on the top. Anyone with expereince, please help a newbie out. My average site stats for my CSE are: $7.00 revenue - 1000 search queries - 37 clicks - CTR rate of about 3.7% Thanks
well its just a basic search engine..it encompasses all of the web and there's no specific sites that its suppose to search so its pretty much an all web search pretty much exactly like google. The only thing I could think of is perhaps the coloring of the sponsor results when people search for something. I notice yahoo and google both emphasize the coloring on their pages. Maybe i should follow.
Could've swore I posted on this... I must've X'd out before clicking post... The only way to really make *decent* money with a CSE (I have NOT been able to make anything worthwhile with CSE) is to get lots of traffic. I had a domain that was for a search niche... 250-400 uniques/day... and I think it barely makes $10/month. Wasn't even worth it. It's still up because I feel it's the best site to have on there and bookmark % is in the high 80%, so people must enjoy it. Edit: Average ~300/day and 102.8 % bookmark according to AWStats and 96.3 % come using direct/bookmark. Will probably figure out something to do with this domain sometime in the next two months.
Nice breakdown, well i just launched 3 weeks ago and seeing constant growth right now....im seeing about $50-60 last week alone with about 600+ uniques a day with over 1000 searches. How much were you getting per click? It seems like you should be getting perhaps 2-4 dollars a day with your traffic. CSE rev. is pretty slow but if for some reason I can create a higher CTR, i think the rev model will be a bit more successfull. Are you familiar with the yahoo search builder revenue model? Im like CSE because its easy to implement and to use but i wish i could maximize earning a little bit more. I wonder what google's search engine CTR is? anybody know?
Hi, i see that u use cse with adsense. please help I made a site with 5 CSE (personnal cse), when i try to create adsense account to associate with my cse site, i am not accepted! with an email saying that the reason is "page type"! I thinked before that a CSE can be associated with adsense, am i wrong?
