I see a few threads on how to get crawled and by google

I have a brand new site

Linked from my existing sites as the following

    Three PR3s and Two PR4s

Added Banner Advert to my classifieds site
    Created a intro Blog Post
    Added Classifieds Advert (120 days)

    Added google analytical code
Added google site maps and created a xml map

Added RSS feed to my social networking site. Each time a post is added it will post a copy here too.

    Submitted to yahoo site maps

    Add google adsensev code

within minutes google (adsense bot) and yahoo are crawling the site

brand new cms used which is 100% valid XHTML and CSS

Keen to see when the site will get listed for its keywords on google.

    Will post back here.

Any more ideas to get the traffic flowing to the site?

I put a new website online last Thursdayevening, I submited the sitemap to Google, within 1 hour I could see in the logfiles Google had collected the sitemap.xml after that Google continued to get the sitemap.xml. On Sunday Google Wemaster Tools showed that pages of my new site are in the index, but I could find them yet. On Monday my site was already showing on the top 10 for my keywords.

I was happy about that. Very quick.

Wonder how long it will stay in the top or first page since its a new site.

google is very quick to get to a new site so thats the easy bit

Now the hard part to keep your site on the front page

Google is getting faster day by day in indexing but serp's are fluctuating badly. In a day i notice many positions for a keyword. So hard to day about ranking but for indexing it is getting better..................................

The only thing that can make it stay on top is by adding keyword rich contents and continue to submit to digg and stumbleupon for the traffics.

Index is more faster nowadays... Video submission. That can help you get traffic.

i think a new site needs 3 months to get its position. just add content and try to get backlinks and wait.

Google is indexing all the whois information through the whois data, it could be one of the reason the site get indexed fast these days.

    whois information

this is a good point really.

I now see google has crawled 90% of the site
Yahoo is crawling as well but not where near as aggressive as google

Using site: in the google search we still havent appeared. I am interested to see when this will occur for a new site

Any views on the expected or guessed time to see a new site in google?

Google doesnt only use Whois or social bookmarking info etc. its because they have a much more complicated algorithm for the whole issue. Good way to promore sites as weep

I agree with you.... Google is not using whois or any other social book marking sites for caching or anything
