Just a quick question about Google's beta CPA program. I've always been concerend about this type of advertising. I'm not underestimating Google here, as I'm sure they have thought about this (there may be an easy answer which is what I'm looking for), but is it possible that an advertiser, who is in complete control of their payments, could cheat by removing the conversion code (possibly in a random fashion) from the page which signals a completed conversion resulting in the advertisng not having to pay for a sale, lead, etc. How can this be prevented?
I'm sure Google's Bot will crawl any site doing this at a much higher rate to make sure the code remains. Google will most likely charge a LOT for actions on websites that have a low conversion rate. After reading the FAQ they are going to charge based on how much your product costs. But, I think there will be more to it... Just like Adwords.
Advertisers (AdWords users) get to choose what they are willing to pay, it's not up to Google. http://services.google.com/payperaction/faq.html
Aren't pages which indicate conversion typically dynamic (containing order numbers for example), meaning that they are not crawlable? I'm sure the solution, whatever it will be, is going to be automated, but I'm wondering in what way they will be automated. Thanks for the insight BTW -
