This is according to an article called: Sun's worried that Google Android could fracture Java Google is the new Microsoft. They decide to go in their own direction, thereby breaking the standards that accepted everywhere else.
Java didn't die then... it won't die now. Google's market share is only 43.7 percent. searchenginwatch They ARE moving heavily into a variety of markets, but their market dominance is NOWHERE near what Micro$ofts was 10 years ago. And Java has had a 10 year lead on the competition. More implementation, more generic classes and a ready pool of unemployed programmers. Moi for instance. Google is impressive, and is moving rapidly to capture entire segments, most impressively video. We will see in time. But methinks the predictions of the demise of Java are 'greatly exaggerated'.
I hope not. That's what Microsoft got sued over with Microsoft VM, but in their case they actually were licensing it from Sun as Java VM and changed it to their own version.
And I for the Google OS come on guys, I have never seen something done bad from Google. Everything is nice and useful. Love Google
