"the world does not run on American laws"

When it comes to domains, that is exactly how it runs. ICANN follows US law and your domain can be taken for infringement regardless of where you live in the world.

i really don't have in depth knowledge about ICANN but i am sure to look into that and then get back on this.

my earlier post was regarding DMCA laws.

DMCA is for copyright infringement, not trademarks (which is what the op was talking about).

Comon now, you have got to understand the difference between video sharing website, which was created to allow people to share their own video creation but sometimes gets abused by those who share copyrighted content and a warez website which was created around the idea of sharing copyrighted content but uses sharing of self made material as cover up.

I don't know if the TPB dudes were formally arrested, but they were criminally prosecuted. They were both fined and sentenced to a year in jail. It's still under appeal, but they could lose, so at this point the verdict stands.

More importantly, they have spent millions of dollars defending themselves, money they have lost even if they win their appeal. Anyone running a similar site should keep that in mind.

Google can't ban sites. Google can take things out of its own index but has no control over what sites you can visit on the Internet.

Nonny let's drop this cause you have no idea about TPB and the crew, those guys don't even have the money to run their site unlike the RIAA/MPAA WHO HAVE SPEND MILIONS UPON MILLIONS AFTER these 3 guys and till date TPB is up and not a single link has ever been removed from their site ever. lol just visit their legal notice section on TPB i do it when ever lulz is needed.

buying up law and buying politicians is not going to change the free nature of Internet . the corporates themselves have to come with a better business module if they want cooperation from file sharers .

yes google did block the TPB homepage only for one day then they removed that blockage too since google in itself is the biggest torrent tracker without even having a tracker of their own.

The domain has expired. When you get domains you really only rent them for x amount of years. This just means their "lease" is up.
