Yep , all the high PR content sites won't be anymore taking any copied content.. Do make sure you use canonical tags on your sites to rescue the spamhammer of Google.
If you are placing duplicate content your page will hardly be indexed or not indexed at all, if you place duplicate articles in several directories - do not expect any positive influence to your rankings from it at all. The golden rule here is: ONE ARTICLE SHOULD ONLY BE USED AT ONE WEBSITE.
i feel moved to respond to this - you are under a delusion about what search engines want. They want UNIQUE content. A 'spun' article isn't actually unique. It's a variation on the original. Lets say that "I like 5 sugars in my coffee" is the original. "I prefer five sugars in my coffee" and "I like five sugars in my cup of joe" are all ways of saying the exact same thing, so they aren't UNIQUE. the question is:- will a search engine THINK they are unique. if the answer is yes, than to all intents and purposes it IS unique. As has been explained many times over the last few weeks, on many forums, what has happened is that the advent of 'collaborative' spinners has basically allowed the wannabee article marketers to shoot themselves in both feet. Why? Because most of them are lazy, and just use the tools in 'auto' mode, so the output is rammed with grammatical errors. It's VERY easy to catch these errors, and allows the engines to 'discount' these pages on the first pass without having to get clever with page cross reffing etc. Example from a popular collaborative spinner:- "I similar five sweetens inside my java". If YOU were a search engine, what would YOU think if you found that? There's only one spinner that can reliably produce syntactically correct English, and if you haven't guessed what it is yet, check out my sig.
I agree..we have to play safe with article directories till Google brings out another update to track spun content. However with this change ..Google has once more assured users with quality search result.
Sound advice from all the members here. Good content, original content will do well, on your blog or distributed to the article directories. I actually had two sites move up to page 1 after the farmer's slap. I was surprised and glad. Keep up the good work. It will pay off.
