Guess what? One of my sites got dropped from high ranks just because others were copying the content. Sites copying the content had better incoming links, and SE considered mine to be a duplicate one. Duh! I'm still trying to find a way out. What I concluded is content is definitely the king, but you need links too (quality ones) to make SE realize that it's your content and not a copy.
