Google coming up with Gigabit internet

    Google is thinking big: of ultra high speed broadband internet connection that can deliver 1gigabit per second service through fibre-to-the-home connection (that will make a 100 times speedier connection the best offered today). They'll experiment this in cherry-picked locations around US...

    Actually that has been available in Lund - Sweden for the last 5 years or so.. offered by BB2/Labs2 ;)

    1gigabit per second is a huge speed. but I don't think this would work outside US. for example, in my country 3.6Mbps is the best speed to offer.1gigabit per second is a dream for 3 rd world countries.

    really?i've heard of 100 mbps,but not 1,000.
    you could download a dvd in less then a minute. :eek:

    even if you found sources that could upload that,your hard drives couldn't write that fast.

    No, 1Gbps = 128MBps , So SATA can write 150MBps speed,
