Yup, DP posts get indexed in no time and it isn't uncommon to find them ranking high for mildly competitive terms.

Put the title of any new thread in DP into a google search and it'll come up at the top of the search page within 20 minutes.

It isn't actually loving it, it's just because the Google bot visits this forum more frequently than other sites. Imagine that if the bot would only visit it once per week. Too much to handle, visiting it every x hours is way much better so ;)

DP is an Authority site, and user generated content based forum, that is why new posts gets index pretty faster.
Other factors like Website Age, Links, Domain trust etc matters as well, where DP is extremely good.

Check this out - http://forums.digitalpoint.com/spy.php you'll know how active this forum is.

I have seen that VB forums are usually indexed faster than any other site as well as blogger blogs as well. I think it is not unusual since digital point is a do follow forum so google index them faster

This isn't hard to do, Here is a thread I posted 2 years ago on getting my post indexed in 10 mins.
You don't have to own DP to get pages indexed fast ;)

Yes Google loves forums and user generated contents.

I love DP too. i spend most of the time here and I just got addicted to it.

But I don't think, do follow plays any role here. do follow attracts people and they post often here. Since its highly moderated, it gets good posts, fresh, relevant posts, it became a good authoritive site and Google crawls it more often.
