google.com in footer ???

    hi, i have question that i would like to hear explanation for.

    while surfing i saw lots of sites have google.com link in footer.. Is that black hat seo? Is it smart to put it? Does it have some kind of advantages for seo or something 'cause all site i saw with it are well ranked in alexa...

    I don't think Black Hat Seo, but maybe Google likes sites that google link on that site. Not only in the footer, in the sidebar as well.

    I wouldn't think there's any special treatment for websites linking to google.com, Google has literally become a dictionary word these days, it doesn't need promotion nor it has to thank the linking website. My opinion.

    Neither that. Why would a search engine blacklist you for linking to it.
