Was that tongue in cheek? Because it doesn't make any sense. They can't delist themselves from their own search...

No, wait: Search Google for "search engine"

    Maybe they did ;)

Even Google is using the all-powerful Coop now to boost its rankings???? (Check the screen shot attached)

Or is someone taking action on Matt Cutts threat discussed in this thread to try to get Google to delist itself? That would be funny :).

You'd be surprised at the huge amount of search the term 'google' gets. Not the point though, the point is that someone is messing around.

I'm point about 30k of weight at Google (keyword Google) until I get the Jagger thing sorted out. That's looking like an indefinite amount of time at the moment.

    Dear all,

I saw on my front page (antique-militaria.co.uk) - 'search engine' linking to, you guessed it, www.google.com!

Is this from them? to boost their rather lame PR10 page!?? Hoho...

Or is it some sort of test?

    Cheers,

    tom

If you believe too much weight too fast is bad, you can point it elsewhere then slowly change the percentages to your taste.

Pointing to Google is arbitrary. It could be a charity site, a different search engine etc. People who point to Google are just looking to expose them to the "penalty" rumours around the Coop.

In other words, for a laugh

That's what I must have guessed in an inner part of my mind as yet hidden from myself!

...giving google a penalty by its own system, most amusing... I would have been surprised had it really been google needing a bit of 'help', yet then at least they certainly couldn't penalise us for using it!

    Cheers yfs1!

Ahh... It all makes sense now. What kind of weight would google have I wonder if it was in the coop? 100 million :D!
