Google will automatically target a geographic location for your site based upon where you live. If you want to specifcy a different location create a google webmaster tools account and you can choose a different region.
It is VERY hard to rank really well in two different views of Googlee. Google will try to determine which Google you are targeting based on your TLD/ccTLD, the location of your web hosting, your Google Webmaster Tools geo targeting setting, and your back links. Typically, you are going to rank in one or the other... not both. It's not impossible, but requires exponentially more effort than ranking in both. If you want to target consumers in the UK AND other countries like the US, then you should be using a NON-country coded top level domain (like .com, .net, .org, etc.), have your site hosted in the US, focus on ranking in Google.com, and forget about Google.co.uk.
have a .co.uk domain and get links from the UK based authority websites... but remember that .co.uk domain is a must if you want to rank well
Maybe when your target market is in UK then its best if most of your submission resources are found in Google.co.uk resources...
I think I have read about this in “The Google Story†book. They don’t have logo celebration for religious occasions. All their celebrations are for secular festivals. They used to have a Diwali logo as well but it was removed when someone pointed out it was a Hindu festival. So there… by vimoh..
