Right now I managed to get my company ranked for a very unique keyword and on the first page. The issue is we only show up when searching Google.ca Will we also rank well using Google.com I'm personally thinking the server haven't updated but eventually we will also rank well for Google.com Is this true?
where you rank depends on your domain (.ca or co.uk or .com) as well well where you are getting the backlinks form. if you are geo targeting and building links in that specific region, then you will rank well in that google version. if you have a .com domain and doing typical link building but still rank well on google.ca and not on google.com, then you will just need to keep building links as google.com is more competitive than google.ca
if you are targeting a particular region, do links from that region count for for more than links from sites that are somewhere else ? i.e. if this guy is targeting google.com.ca will G rate links from other canadian sites as more relevant than links from US sites ?
Yes noddy geographic link location matters these days. You should be getting links from the region you are targeting. bbrian017 you probably won't get google.com rankings anytime soon. You've likely built up a lot of Canadian links, even if you didn't mean to. So to Google your website looks more relevant to Canadians. To get Google.com rankings you will need to focus on getting many more US based links.
Thanks guys at least it's not all lost! Man it sucks to get ranked so high in such a small country lol
