I am seeing some peculiar and significant differences between the .co.uk and .com results for search terms and landing pages that are location specific (Bristol, Liverpool etc.) The site has a .com TLD and the server is UK based - most backlinks are from UK sources. When I contrast the relative results derived from Google (UK and COM) with those derived from Yahoo (UK and Worldwide) I see the opposite pattern with my regional landing pages appearing higher in the UK specific SERPs than in the worldwide - which is what I would expect to see. This is throwing into question the quality of the Google.co.uk search results as for some terms my landing pages are not appearing at all and Google is only showing around 500 results - whereas the same page is in the top 20 Google.com results out of as many as 1 million. Any suggestions regarding how I might overcome this Google issue would be appreciated.
