People in China found this morning that they could no longer access google.cn, it redirected them to google.com.hk. Some also found that if you seach the name of China's president hujintao on google.com.hk, they could not visit google.com.hk in a few minutes.

Looks like they are done with China. I'm just not sure if the redirect was necessary?

one by simplified (Chinese) character writing and the other one is by original complex (Chinese) form.

Like to know : can all old .cn sites remain in G search DBs?

Does this mean people from China will still be able to use google for their search needs? If they are being redirected to their Hong kong site, I guess they would still be able to use it.... but only with a different extension! :)

    Regards,

This is really kind of sad when you think about it. Oppression and people not being able to have access to searching the free world.

    Not really.

Google.com.hk does not filter out SERP results according to the policy of the Chinese gov. which means the Chinese will be blocked from accessing Google.com.hk in the near future, as what was to Google.com

Whether or not the Chinese can still use Gmail and other Google service is not sure at the moment.

Yes it is directing to .com.hk right now. But you never know what will happen tomorrow as the Government might close all the Google services which are running right now.

Huh!!! Actually there are only two services of Google running and they are google.com and gmail.com

I am sure the Government is planning to close that too within the next week :(

I think you need to go through the news on the net about this and just switch on the television and you will find this news all over the place.
