If you watch the stock of Google plummeted yesterday, it warns about the slow down in click-thru rate for us, the publishers. I guess we may expect lower earnings from adsense in the future to come.

wouldn't a decline in internet usage be a better messure? Either that or people just aren't buying.

People are probably cashing out on there google stock.

Since the economy is slowing down, would that be true for advertisers to spend less on adwords which will bring less income to adsense publishers?

My thinking is, if advertisers started to slow down, the one that don't will only get more action.

But, if there isn't as much competition, then I would assume advertisers would start lowering bids and still keep the same positions. So in a sense, this might be true also.

Interesting, but doesnt that defy the law of supply and demand? Less people clicking ads, advertisers will still have to pay more or the same amount for less visitors.

You know, google makes the rules. They do whatever they hell they want, and we have to live with it.

If there is less ad inventory, google can force people to pay more per click, but that doesn't mean advertisers have to continue to put up with it.

I think law of supply and demand only works when you don't have someone dictating them.
