I am having a look at the internet via
    google's new browser Chrome.

So far, I think the pages look the same
    as in Firefox.

Has anyone noticed any major differences?

Pretty much exactly the same, there are tiny differences between Gecko and Webkit, most people don't notice.

I downloaded, installed and configured it and have been using it all afternoon.

It renders pages in the same manner as Firefox for me.

I did notice right away that font size can be changed via the keyboard -- CTRL+/CTRL- when using this Browser (ala Firefox) and it does render XHTML served as content (MIME) Type application/xhtml+xml correctly.

Reread the TOS again dude. That applies to Google Services (such as Google Docs) and grants them permission to publicy display anything that you "mark as public". It also grants them other rights to "refashion" the content for other browsers to view, such as handhelds for instance.

Nowhere in there does it say they have rights to any content that you use Chrome for and you still hold the copyright on the content you publicly display on Google Services.

I think you have not thoroughly read through the TOS or visited the links accompanying my post. I am not at all clear about conflicts between the TOS usage versus Creative Commons Licensing.

Yes I did visit the links. And I refer you to this one:

Does Google Have Rights to Everything You Send Through Chrome?

That article was updated a short time ago, of which I paraphrased in my previous post.

I call your attention to the actual language of that agreement:
Services refers to such properties as Google Docs, Google Code etc. Chrome is referred to as "the Software".

At any rate, Google does not have any rights to content that you submit to other software/websites outside of their control, such as your Wordpress blog or phpBB forum ... which is what you are ranting about.

I think you need to take it down a notch and not read anything into this that isn't there.

'Sounds to me you have a sour stomach, son. I am not reading anything into the TOS -- I simply have the same concerns others have expressed.

They should look the same as Safari. Chrome uses the same rendering engine as Safari, so they have to render the same.

There appear to be some caching issues relating to css and firewalls or proxys.

Our national newspaper had a fix/reload button on it's site yesterday for chrome users while they worked through the issues.

One particular client site looks fine for me but for another user at work it's munted.

There was one layout issue on http://forumpromotion.org

At the top, under the header, in FF, the heard is like 4 pixels smaller than the bottom part, for some reason, but its fine in Google. In IE, on the other hand, its messed up completely lmao.

Will not touch it. They plan on integrating their very own browser with other googleproducts. I will not be a part of this, and so long as they use the webkit rendering engine, I do not have to test in it. Plus, it's beta, so no testing anyway.

Screw google. I'll use their search engine, and that's it.

Its not really faster than FF, it just loads javascript faster. FF is going to get a new engine to process javascript faster than chrome.
