I have really understood that , y Google Chrome is so fast. People who designed it are quite intelligent. Whenever we open any web browser only one instance is created, and when we open new tabs no other instances are created. But in Google Chrome as you keep on opening new tabs, new instances are created. u can see this in windows. Open google chrome and open several tabs and check the processes in task manager(ctrl+alt+del).
in other browsers only one instance is made.So thats used. in chrome separate instances are made and used.infact all the tabs are separate browsers.just drag them. Open google chrome and open several tabs and check the processes in task manager(ctrl+alt+del).
Yeah I understand that part too, but I don't see how having multiple processes would make it quicker... I think its just the way they've coded the program that makes it quicker and not just the multiple processes.
Yes Google Chrome is fast, but I don't know if it is because of the processes. I love how clean it is too.
This is good as in case your browser crashes, you will only lose one instance. Other instances will not crash. Thanks for this info.
It is fast, but it is not helpful in the internet marketing field. Unlike firefox that have tons of great add-ons and plugins that would really help to make work at ease.
i thought them being separate processes, you have to reauthenticate. but i notice if you log into your bank account and bring up a new tab, you can get back into the bank account records without having to re-authenticate.
Because they dont have many features they are fast. once these features are added It will become like other normal browser IMO
So, if it opens multiple instances of the browser, it might make your system slow. That's not a good thing.
Exactly right, if you pulled all the features out of FireFox it would run faster also. For me FireFox is just as fast as Chrome even with 50 addons, i've tweaked a ton of FireFox settings in about:config and also have the cache and cookies saving to a RAM Disk which is 150 times faster then saving to the HD like normal. So i can't notice much difference in speed between the two.
It can never compete with Firefox ...remember upcoming Firefox 3.1 is a big release . It is said to be 7 times faster than earlier version.
Google Chrome is too basic for my needs. Though it is a very fast browser it lacks enough functionality that is available with Firefox to keep me from switching, right now.
Chrome is my browser of choice now because of its speed... but some pages it doesn't like so IE or FF is needed.
