SO, We should discuss about it, I invite everyone to contribute to this thread by Writing any update you get about Chrome OS.
Chrome is different from Android. http://googleblog.blogspot.com/2009/07/introducing-google-chrome-os.html
Chrome is certainly different from Android as they are for different platforms. Regarding Chrome, it'll be a linux based OS and that's why this might not even compete with Windows.
only time will tell. should be interesting to see how MS reacts but i really don't see it being an immediate threat to windows
If it would target NOT ONLY notebooks, it would be a lot more successful. Google Chrome OS should be working on any kind of computer AND REALLY GOOD on netbooks. This is my humble opinion on how Google Chrome OS should be.
Though Google Chrome will be an awesome OS, i guess there is no threat to Microsoft for atleast next 30 years
Google is as much of a threat to MS in the OS space, as Bing is a threat to Google in the SE space. No contest either way.
I'll be installing Google Chrome OS on a separate hard drive and swap it in and out just to play with it. It's gonna be awhile though, probably over 1 year from now. Gonna be a long wait.
It'll be interesting to see how this pans out - I think Chrome OS will be a serious competitor for Windows, but I don't foresee the downfall of Windows just yet.
I will use Chrome if: - All adobe products availabe in Chrome - Lot of game ported to Chrome - Driver for my hardware availabe in Chrome, including driver for my phone.. - I can use other internet browser, including IE, FireFox, safari and Opera - Dont forget 3D software like MAX
Wait...do you mean Google Chrome Operating System!? Its amazing how Google can come up with so many ways to make some serious cash.
I would like to try what Google Chrome can do with my Acer netbook. I have seen poor performance when I used MS on it and was not pretty satisfied with the preloaded Linux. Hope Chrome is my answer.
