Not sure if it will be the Windows killer, but it's very interesting indeed,
especially the fact it's build on top of linux kernel and they are going to release it as open-source

I think it will be an interesting project. Is it going to be free to use or do we have to purchase it?

I like the idea of no viruses. Let's hope they get it right.

I have never seen Google get something wrong, and their latest Android mobile phone OS was a success in my opinion, so I do hope they keep the same high standards and maybe even stick it to Microsoft finally!!! :)

As far as i know and what i've been reading along the lines of the world wide web people are very skeptical about what google is going to do with the Operating system, but in more then a few cases yes it's being hailed as the Killer for MS :D

I'd love to test it.. But IMO, it will not be popular if no one develops apps for the OS.

Like I displayed in my thread, I will express here. Google is offering an outstanding operating system free to manufacturers. Why wouldn't they use it on their computers? I believe it will grab a huge chunk of the market share for operating systems.

I dont think Google's all that interested in the hardware sector yet, they are at the moment interested in taking down Microsoft, as you might know both rivals are always trying to one up the other, a few years ago some of you might remember that someone setup a fake page detailing the arrest of X-President George W Bush in Canada, and voila Google News picked it up as a real news report and MSN had a field day on it :p

i think google is trying to brand themself as a tech company rather than just a internet company thus they have also gone into computer os and handphones. Like apple and sony. I think google will be a strong player.

Anyone want bet on Google Video game console and TV set soon?

OS for google chrome...well its a good idea but it would be a big risk many users still using XP and vista as their OS.
